We are proud and excited to announce the opening of the Simply Classic Bistro at Burnley Mechanics, offering lunch, pre-theatre and event dining.

Burnley Leisure is working in partnership with Simply Classic to provide a new and exciting food concept bringing great home-cooked food, uniquely presented with excellent service.

Bistro Opening Times

Monday to Friday 11am – 3pm

Saturday – 11:30am – 2:30pm

Pre Theatre Dining 2 hours prior to show time (reservations highly recommended)

The Simply Classic Bistro is a relaxing place to enjoy lunch in the heart of Burnley Town Centre, sit back in the Lounge Bar in one of our luxury leather dining chairs or sofas or choose to sit in the new Front Room and watch the world go by.

If you’re in a rush then don’t worry, all out food can be ordered to take out, whether a hot meal or cold sandwich we’ll wrap it and pack it for you to enjoy at your desk.

If you’re in a group of 8 or more and visiting us for lunch please pre-book your table and also download and complete the pre order below and return to the box office or bistro.

Served Monday – Friday up until 1:30pm, with the choice of 3 different Afternoon tea packages; Simply Cream Tea, Classic Afternoon Tea and Prosecco Afternoon Tea.

Our afternoon tea is freshly prepared therefore must be booked 24 hours in advance.

Join us for the first ever Mechanics Gin and Jazz Club, as we welcome the Jane Smith Quartet to the Front Room. Playing everything from jazz classics such as The Lady Is A Tramp, At Last and Autumn Leaves to more modern jazz and funk tunes by Michael Jackson and Stevie Wonder. Sit back, relax and sip on one of our speciality gins (other drinks are available), as our Front Room is transformed into an intimate Jazz club for the night.

Searching for hazelnuts, Mouse meets the cunning Fox, the eccentric old Owl and the party mad Snake. Will the story of the terrifying Gruffalo save Mouse from ending up as dinner for these hungry woodland creatures? After all, there’s no such thing as a Gruffalo – is there?

An evening of theatre and live music to celebrate and remember the centenary of Burnley lad Thomas Whitham being awarded the Victoria Cross at the battle of Passchendaele in WW1.
